New Recruits
*Please note: all steps must be completed for applicant to be considered.
Step 1:
- Applicant must complete Self-Assessment Questionnaire for Entry Into Policing
Step 2:
- A cover letter and resume as well as three letters of reference must be provided
Step 3:
- Include OACP Certificate of Results (C.O.R)
Step 4:
- Must have proof of valid First Aid and CPR Certification at the time a job offer is given
Step 5:
- Show diploma for completion of four years of secondary school education or the equivalent
Step 6:

Completed APS Application for Employment Form

Completed Medical and Vision Form

Completed Consent and Release of Liability Form
Step 7:
- Include any other documentation for consideration
What to Expect:
Once we have received an application, the following will occur:
- Pre-screening of applicant
- Pre-background questionnaire
- Background investigation
- Offer of employment or letter of rejection
- Psychological Evaluation
Experienced Officers
Step 1:
- A cover letter and resume as well as three letters of reference must be provided
Step 2:
- Include Ontario Police College Basic Training Certificate or a equivalent recognized by the Ontario Police College
Step 3:
- Include the following supporting documents:
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Step 4:
- Completed APS Application for Employment Form
- Completed Medical and Vision Form
- Completed Consent and Release of Liability Form
- Completed McNeil Self-Disclosure Report
Step 5:
- Include any other documentation for consideration
What to Expect:
