ORIGINAL RELEASE Search Warrant Executed on Kettle Point
(Kettle Point, ON) On the 5th of October 2009 at around 7:10 p.m., acting on authority of a search warrant, Anishinabek Police with the assistance of Lambton OPP, entered a residence situated at 6062 Chippewa Circle, Kettle Point. During the search, it is alleged that officers located approximately 100 suspected marihuana plants in different stages of growth. The estimated street value of the seized plants is approximately $100,000.00.
An unregistered firearm and stolen stereo equipment were also seized during the search.
Forty-nine year old Murray Shawnoo and forty-four year old Cheryl Benn, both from Kettle Point, will appear in a Sarnia court on the 23rd of November 2009 to answer to the charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Two other adults are being sought in connection with this investigation.
